It started with this vison — two towers for living with a community hub below. With wellness at the core, outdoor space became the emblem of livability.

 

A generous building must come with a generous program…

…so a library was chosen.

The library should accommodate both our historic past and our technologic future — Such became the vision for the dual-community hub.

The historic Post Office Building (torn down post-war) formerly inhabited the site. The influence of this massive public structure heavily (pun-intended) influenced the design of the new library.

The quintessential library has often employed post-and-beam structural members, creating a simple repetitive elegance.

The Historic Library Hub has thus been designed from 14 layers of cross-laminated timber (CLT) as a nod to masonry

the technology hub, by contrast, is designed from post-and-beam wood structural members and is a nod to the future of building technology.
